Secret Fountains
Secret Fountains is a series of 30 large-scale black and white images of derelict fountains photographed at night in 2017. The fountains were removed from a modernist “Towers in the Park” style apartment complex to make way for condominium townhouses. Two fountains were re-installed by the developer in a new public park on the site. The images were installed on 500 feet of retaining wall adjacent to the apartment complex, bordering on the Kay Gardiner Beltine trail. Speaking to Toronto’s endangered modernist history, biodegradable paper was used and the installation remained in place until it naturally faded away.
