Hello Harris

This series reshapes yellowish snapshots of Lawren Harris paintings which I took at the AGO in 2019. Harris’ heroic works belie an interest in spirituality, specifically Theosophy. I happen to posses a discarded Theosophical Society archive. One tract posits:

“Behind everything seen/unseen is an immutable absolute Reality … Matter and consciousness are two polar aspects of this Reality. A universe dissolves: after cosmic rest, a new universe appears.”

Perhaps Harris operated with one foot in each polarity. HELLO HARRIS dialogues between two artists, across time.
