Kodachromes
In 2018, William Eakin and I began a project documenting modernist high-rises in my Toronto neighbourhood. We focused on “Towers-in-the-Park” style complexes, (a tenant-centred architectural style invented by Le Corbusier), featuring dedicated parkland and amenities like games rooms and on-site convenience stores.
As land values skyrocket, the pleasant grounds of these buildings are endangered, often targeted for “infill” condominiums. Kodachromes pairs my images with vintage red slide mounts to compliment the green spaces, which may soon be a thing of the past.
