Denizens

In their 1960s heyday, the “Secret Fountains” (of my 2020 photography project) were situated amongst goldfish, peacocks, and swans. I learned this after the fountains were gone. A sense of loss drove me to preserve every remnant of their story, taking pictures of their peeling, paper images on the Beltline concrete wall. DENIZENS (2021) was created after I learned two fountains were being salvaged. This series of collage-beings incorporates Secret Fountain installation photographs. Twenty were installed on the same Beltline wall in September 2021.
